Oh, yeah, the kiss is obviously important for our awakening, but I liked them from the beginning- just not in the romantic sense... they were so sweet and funny together, trying to show to each other who is the best
And yes, Cain's comment "You look like I've just shot your dog" was absolutely fantastic!!!! The difference between her and Laura was really something which helped my awakening too

I had read about the characters previous to me actually watching the show so I was already intrigued and then when I watched the mini, I was like "Dudes, they are going to fall in love." It was way too obvious. Hehe.
So I guess that's when?
It was not obvious to me. Kara/Lee - now that was obvious and I did ship them for a while ... but then when Anders came along it became really complicated and I moved on. I don't ship for shipping's sake ... I do it because I genuinely believe that the characters would be happier together. I always thought that the writers would continue to play the power struggle between the military and government, like they did for most of season one, which is why their growing friendship caught me by surprise.
I was a Kara/Lee shipper, but only for a few episodes. After a while, the love/hate constant just got on my nerves! lol What i love about A/R is that it is slow and the conflicts are usually few and far between, but the conflicts are important when they do happen. They're not just silly little "i hate you" arguments, they are deep disagreements, if i'm making any sense? oh and also the little moments between them are few, which makes them more special. Whereas Kara and Lee are all over the place, Adama and Roslin aren't.
I don't mean to offend any L/K shippers, honestly

I don't really know how to express my love of A/R except that I have never regretted it.
In a way, when you say little moments, thats all that we have seen and, really, as shippers, isn't that all what its about?... because right now, as the relationship is becoming openly acknowledged those were the clues that let us know that it wasn't all in our heads and those we the moments that we treasured.

Why I Became an Adama/Roslin Shipper
I watched the original iteration of BSG and went away unimpressed, so I ignored this one (for way too long). I saw a string of references to this BSG in posts on another site and became curious, so I watched a few epis. I couldn't believe the quality of the writing and the chemistry between Bill Adama and Laura Roslin. I was sold and am now in the process of catching up. Wouldn't you know it, I came to this show just before they announced it was ending next year. Thank you Madame Airlock for giving me the push in the direction of the A/R community; what a great group of people!

The original BSG was ok in 1978 and it was typical of tv of that time. We are so much more sophisticated as a tv audience now and demand the best. I can quite honestly say that BSG reinvented, is the most unbelievable show I have ever watched and I have never seen anything quite like it. Unlike the characters of the original series, who were flat uninteresting people, they have managed to create a range of flawed, realistic and deeply awe consuming characters. Roslin and Adama have a chemistry which is evident from the biginning and which grows with each episode until we see them join together at last, which is the most satisfiying moment of the show for me. It has been a long slow journey for their relationship to flourish and that makes it all the more heartfelt. Unlike Lee/Kara etc where you see them all playing musical beds, Adama and Roslin are subtle and always leaving you on the edge of 'will they won't they'. This is what draws you in, the anticipation. I love them to bits and the community that has emerged is great as it is spreading love and not anger or hate. Not many shows you can say that about. They should be so proud of their work on the show and MM and EJO are the best arn't they.

Well, it started with a fanfic by Miss Cam. I wasn't even a fan of BSG, and I got into the whole thing because of A/R.
The couple reminds me of a couple I know in Real Life. That's why. :]
